Panelists will each have 10 min. to raise issues or review the status of their area, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A from the audience and other panelists. After a refreshment break at 3:00 PM there will be an open discussion among panelists and attendees. Questions, answers and open discussion from everyone is encouraged. We anticipate a lively and informative exchange from all viewpoints.

Sandy Grimwade has been in science and medical publishing, in print and electronic form for over 20 years. He has worked for Elsevier Science in The Netherlands, the UK and the US, was an Associate Editor of Nature, and was founder and President of Keyboard Publishing. He is currently the Publisher of The Scientist, the News Journal for the Life Scientist, based in Philadelphia.

Robert Braude has been an academic health sciences library director for twenty-five years and the director of biomedical communications for twelve years. He also is a member of the Faculty of the Graduate School of Medical Sciences and teaches in the Clinical Epidemiology/Health Services Research Masters Program and is a Visiting Associate Professor at the School of Information and Library Science, Pratt University.

GSM now employs over 40 people, including technical, editorial, and sales and marketing professionals, in Tampa, Gainesville, FL, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Albuquerque, Washington, DC, and New York.

Carol Richman is responsible for the evaluation of electronic dissemination proposals with respect to licensing intellectual properties from all publications; this encompasses both the technical review of these proposals as well as the legal and financial negotiations. Ms. Richman also oversees the Permissions and Copyrights area which handles all permission requests and the registration of copyrights and trademarks.

Cliff was a student and researcher at Washington University School of Medicine before he embarked on a legal career. A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, he has worked in the intellectual property field at NIH and in the Washington, D.C. office of a multinational law firm before joining the Office of University Counsel at Thomas Jefferson University. He focuses on a wide range of intellectual property matters and litigation, including, copyright, trademark, and patent law.
