HOW TO GET THE MOST OF DIAGNOSTIC REASONING
Patient Simulation Software and the Clinical Competency Exam
Breakout Session: June 25, 1999 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Discussion will be lead by Hurley Myers, Ph.D., professor of physiology and internal medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and President of the DxR Development Group
The enthusiasm for Problem-Based-Learning and the growing use of computer technology in education has resulted in the development of Diagnostic Reasoning, (a patient simulation software program) and CCX (clinical competency exam software). These software programs integrate the challenge of patient problems with patient simulation software, standardized patients and multimedia computers. The end result is a comprehensive computer program that helps teach and evaluate clinical problem solving.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
All who have implemented patient simulation software or who are thinking about using computers to teach and evaluate clinical reasoning skills.
