Predict the Future: Technology and Medical Education in 2010
Association of American Medical Colleges
Abstract:
The AAMC Rolling Delphi Study is gathering opinions and
developing consensus about the ways information technology and the Internet
will change medical education, research, health care and information management
in the next 10 years. More than 270 deans, medical educators, scientists, and
information/IT specialists participated in Phase 1 of the study.
Results of the Phase 1 study are on the web at http://www.aamc.org/better_health/phase1.htm.
Phase 2 is now underway. In this hands-on session, you can complete Rounds 2
and 3 of the current study. In Round 2, score 63 statements in terms of
desirability and probability. Then, add as many additional statements as you
want. In Round 3, compare your scores to the mean of all participants, and
score new statements added by other Slice of Life attendees.
Benefit in Attending Session:
Participating in the AAMC Delphi Study is a great way to
make certain that your ideas and recommendations are part of
better_health@here.now, AAMC's information technology futures initiative. The
Delphi study gives you a chance to see what others think about information
technology in health professions education. Sharing your technological sophistication helps create a
more promising (and interesting)
future.
