Many people are still disregarding e-books as ridiculous, but the technology and demand are there to make it happen. eMedicine, Inc. is the developer of a new patented networking online writing software package that allows authors and editors from around the world to write textbooks online quickly and efficiently. The company is currently writing 62 medical textbooks with the help of almost 10,000 authors and editors from 1,000 teaching institutions from around the world. Dr. Plantz describes the technology behind the project, the strategies driving project, and the current status of their work.
