Can we take the gross out of anatomy, and make the hologram the virtual cadaver?

ABSTRACT:

Topics for discussion: Will holographic films and computer-based visualization mean that we can reduce the need for cadaver based teaching of anatomy. If so, where will the anatomy class of the 21st century be? Perhaps every biology class could teach anatomy this way?

BENEFIT TO PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING SESSION:

Participants will experience holograms that have been used in teaching anatomy. They will see the tools used to create such holograms and simulations of the holograms using QuickTime/VR which can be displayed on the Web or from CD.
