ABSTRACT:

The Integrated Medical Curriculum (IMC) is a ground-breaking medical education website, offering the most popular basic science and clinical programs taught in medical school. The IMC is loaded with in-depth text coverage, lively animations, streaming audio and video, realistic photos and illustrations, quizzes, quality content and much more. This interactive, online demonstration will showcase our two newest titles:

CLINICAL HUMAN EMBRYOLOGY is based upon the premise that the usage of actual clinical cases can serve as a context in which to learn and comprehend the mechanisms of normal human development, and to gain a better understanding of developmental anomalies. Over 200 animations and figures enhance the comprehension of the complex and dynamic events that occur during human development. Straightforward, succinct text describes developmental concepts and principals essential to understanding the anatomical intricacies of the human body.

This program includes: actual clinical cases of congenital malformations or syndromes, interactive timelines that allow the user to understand the concurrent development of multiple organ systems, and quizzes that reinforce the learning objectives and provide immediate feedback. In addition, clinical correlations are provided for each organ system, reinforcing the branch points in normal development.

BASIC CLINICAL SKILLS is designed to decrease variability in the teaching of physical diagnosis, and to provide an ongoing resource for the learning of these skills. The program includes over 150 illustrations—beautifully hand-drawn specifically for the program—over 200 photographs, video, sound, and more than 300 pages of content with links to glossary terms.

This program offers several features designed to make it an effective learning tool, including: narrative video demonstrations, step-by-step description of each skill, and printable checklists for taking to clinic or class.

Additional IMC titles on display will include:

Cross-Sectional Anatomy – Explore labeled cross-sections from the Visible Human Male
The Doctor’s Dilemma – Challenge your students with ethical questions in medicine
Essentials of Human Physiology – Animate complicated physiologic processes
Essentials of Immunology – Demonstrate how host defenses operate
Human Anatomy – Dissect cadavers online, head-to-toe and skin-to-bones
Microscopic Anatomy – View thousands of histologic slides through a digital microscope
Radiologic Anatomy – Show students human anatomy through virtual radiographs
