The Biology Project - New Directions

Ken M. Williams
University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona

ABSTRACT:

The Biology Project is an online resource for learning biology at all levels; K-12, undergraduate, graduate and medical school programs all make use of our materials, and the site attracts some 250,000 users per month. We have expanded our online offerings by the use of Cold Fusion and other "middleware" applications, and will demonstrate some of these interactive activities, as well as prototypes of a new site design using XML coupled with a database backend and middleware for dynamic site generation.

BENEFIT TO PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING SESSION:

We've been rather astonished at our success over the past 6 years, and would like to share what we've done and how we've done it with others looking to create dynamic online biology and medical education materials.
