ABSTRACT:

Some knowledge of the three main digital video architectures (QuickTime, Real, and Windows Media) is recommended. Expect some technical talk. This will be a discussion, not a demonstration.

After capturing and editing your video, how will you deliver it?

This breakout session will be a discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of the "big three" video architectures used to author and distribute digital video. The issues around choosing a video architecture range from:

Participants should be prepared to share and compare their own digital video distribution experiences.

BENEFIT TO PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING SESSION:

This is an opportunity for participants to share real world experiences of digital video distribution with each other. By sharing these experiences and comparing/contrasting the features of the three primary video architectures, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the issues inherent in digital video distribution. Participants will also gain a deeper understanding of each individual distribution architecture.
