ABSTRACT:

United Learning, a producer of over 250 video education titles for medical education, is offering an online video streaming service to medical education programs. Our services include providing access to our video content as well as digitizing and managing the digital video assets of schools. We currently service over 6800 schools and 300,000 teachers in the K-12 market with streaming services on 1500 digital titles, and we would now like to offer this management system and our content to the medical education community. All our titles are chaptered to provide a full-length title (30 minute video) in numerous concept clips that can be downloaded and used in PowerPoint presentations or on a university’s website. United Learning offers both internet and Intranet options that provide content in MPEG and ASF formats.

We can cost effectively digitize and load video content into a searchable database that can be viewed by an individual school or shared with other institutions. Although our content has only been available in a digital format for 3 months, we have already sold it in a digital format to schools of medicine at Harvard, Indiana University and Baylor.

The digitization and asset management services that United Learning can provide will allow universities to make video assets more accessible to students and faculty at their institutions. Proprietary or licensed Internet distribution with password protection is possible. Institutions can now share their video content on the web without having to do the conversion or manage the server. Universities have copyright protection as well as royalty opportunities. We offer a cost -effective solution to the conversion of traditional videotapes and management/indexing of digital video.
