ABSTRACT:
"CaseWare" is a database driven dynamic web application. It uses a series of prompts that facilitate the entering of cases used in the education of medical students. Physicians and other health professionals can enter cases from on campus, from their private practice offices or from the many area hospitals and clinics in Northeastern Ohio that are a part of the consortium.
The cases are used in the Center for Studies of Clinical Performance where they are developing a collection of clinical cases that utilize standardized patients to assess medical students' and residents' skills in taking a history, performing a physical, communicating with the patient, determining a differential diagnosis and developing a treatment plan. The cases are stored in a database from which individual cases and special reports can be made.
