DEMONSTRATION
Differential Diagnosis in Neurology
Mark Mumenthaler M.D., Professor Emeritus,
ABSTRACT:
For the 5th Edition of
his textbook named "Differential
Diagnosis in Neurology", Mark Mumenthaler invited Christof Daetwyler
to become a co-author in adding multimedia and Internet resources to it. That's
how an Internet database was created that is tailored to help a physician in
the finding of a diagnosis AND movies were collected and made available in the
Internet and on DVD where all kinds of moving disorders, seizures and other
neurologic conditions can be viewed and compared with each other.
BENEFIT TO PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING SESSION:
This new toolset for
the Differential Diagnosis in Neurology has some interesting aspects for
medical teachers. It makes hard-to-get movies (seizures) easily available to be
used by medical educators, students and residents. The database (http://medweb.dartmouth.edu/neurodiff/)
has some new functionality build into it like dynamic links to Medline offering
very accurate source information to each diagnosis with just a mouse click.
