CNS analgesia

  • Mode of action in the CNS
    - 20% N20 = morphine
    - 30% N20 = some patients lose consciousness (esp. with a tight mask)
    - 80% N20 = most patients will become unconscious
    - Long term use (abuse can result in a myeloneuropathy that may or may not be reversible.
