WHAT IS THE " SLICE OF LIFE" WORKSHOP

Every year about 200 developers of medical multimedia (and interested new-comers) get together to:
  1. Hear and see new technology for Medical/Health applications,
  2. Demo new multimedia teaching programs they've made/bought,
  3. Share innovations for the WWW,
  4. Participate in demonstration or hands-on "Pre-Conference" Workshops
  5. Acknowledge and encourage student participation with the award of a cash prize for the most outstanding student project
  6. Demonstrate the tools, programs and projects they have been working on
  7. Discuss new technologies for enhancing medical education
  8. Share software and ideas

This is one of the few places where developers and evaluators computers assisted learning gather to network and share ideas. The workshop is deliberately limited to 200 participants. The group began as users of the Slice of Life Videodisc. We like the name, we still use the resource to grab images! This year's workshop is a collaborations between the University of Utah (home of Slice of Life), Thomas Jefferson University, Computers in Teaching Initiative Centre for Medicine, Bristol, UK, and Gold Standard Multimedia. You will not want to miss it.

This year's conference costs US$295.00 for early registrations (prior to May 31, 1998), and US$345.00 after May 31, 1998. Special rates are available to students who register prior to May 31, 1998. You may register for the conference online now.
