- Slice of Life 2005 is being held in Portland, Oregon. The Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) is the local host and sponsor. The Pre-workshops will be on the OHSU campus, http://www.ohsu.edu/
- The Slice of Life Development Fund located at the University of Utah in the Eccles Health Sciences Library has been the continuing sponsor providing continuity for the past 17 years. Integral to the library's mission is the HEAL Project (http://www.healcentral.org) with the mission of sharing media in the original spirit of the "Slice of Life" videodisc. The meeting grew because original image and video contributors wanted to share the software they had developed utilizing the videodisc and other new technology.
- This year for the first time the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is providing major logistic, abstract submission and registration this year. The AAMC supports the use of technology in medical education and finds the purpose of our meeting fits their mission. We heartily welcome their participation by providing support for meeting arrangements, social events, secure registration, and automated abstract submission.
- We welcome other commercial sponsors for the meeting. Tax-deductible contributions can be made to help support the meeting. Placement on the web program of your logo with links to your site, acknowledgement in the program, your materials in the registration bag and space and connectivity to demonstrate or exhibit in the demo-poster area are provided along with one free registration for the meeting. Sponsors, depending on the level, support ($2000-10,000) assist in bringing in keynote speakers, cash student software award, complimentary registration or travel assistance for visiting student and faculty from countries without resources for travel. Many have helped sponsor a reception or social event. Please contact Suzanne.Stensaas@hsc.utah.edu to discuss sponsorship.
