Spring is on its way…and there’s much to look forward to in 2025.
We are very excited to announce that the new restrooms have taken shape, and brand new elevators have been placed in the core of the library. The current elevator has served the library for 54 years. It is set to retire later this year.

Much like the subtitle of our digital exhibit about the Tree of Hippocrates, “Large enough to withstand our Utah climate on its own,” the beautiful tree at the southwest corner of our building has weathered the many seasons of construction of the new School of Medicine. The tree (and the library) remain models of resilience and continue to survive. We are looking forward to brand new green space that will grow between the library, the new School of Medicine, and the University hospital. The medicinal garden will also return to the grounds.
In case you missed it: we celebrated our Silver Play Button award from YouTube in a Slice the Cake ceremony back in January. A story about our massive accomplishment and the celebration was featured in an @theU blog post.

Happy Spring!
