The special room rate for the meeting is $129 (single or double occupancy) including tax is valid until May 20, 2003.  State that you are reserving for the "Slice of Life Conference" in order to get the special rate.  After May 20, 2003, a rate of $169 plus tax may apply.

It is the responsibility of each attendee to make reservations directly with the hotel.  The hotel requires one night's room deposit or credit card guarantee for each reservation.  Please get more details from the hotel regarding reservation deposit and payment procedures.

 

Parking is an additional $15/day.

 

2. SUMMER CONFERENCE HOUSING IN STUDENT RESIDENCE SUITES                                        

Drexel University can offer student residence “suites” for housing located in the East Hall at 115 N. 32nd Street,
Philadelphia, PA 19104, #26 on the Drexel Campus Map.  The suites have either 2 or 3 bedrooms and 1 or 2 bathrooms, respectively.  They accommodate a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 people.  They include a living area and kitchenette and would be ideal for families attending the meeting or friends who know each other.
Rates depend on whether your share a room or not.  If two to a bedroom the cost is $34/night/person and if only one person in a bedroom the cost is $40 including taxes. Children and adults are the same price. There is an additional charge of $10/week/person for linen and towels.   There is no changing of linen and towels except on a weekly basis There is  no daily maid service.  There are laundry facilities in the building.  The two residence halls we are considering are within 2-3 blocks of the conference meeting, one was renovated in 1997, and the other opened in 2000. 

Drexel University does not book the “suites”.  You must book and pay for the suites ahead of time through the “Slice of Life” Meeting Registration site.  We have blocked 20 suites until June 1, 2003.  Please indicate the dates of the nights between June 21 and 29 that you wish to pay for.  They ask that you not arrive after 10 p.m. registration for housing form will be posted on the meeting registration page together with current information.  If people wish to share housing, Leah Smith at Gold Standard will try to put people in contact with each other.  Rooms must be prepaid through Slice of Life. When we receive your reservations you will receive more information and the exact address of the residence hall.  Please download and print this reservation form and mail it with credit card information or payment to Gold Standard Multimedia…..

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION:
Slice encourages walking.  Housing options are within a few blocks of the venues.  There are no shuttle buses to the workshop or meeting sites.  General transportation information for the Drexel/University of Pennsylvania area can be found on the University of Pennsylvania website.  Philadelphia's Amtrack station at 30th Street is six blocks away.  The hotel is served by public transportation which passes in front of the hotel.  Travel across the river to the center of the city is relatively easy.

Philadelphia International Airport is the Philadelphia airport for almost all commercial flights.  It has a comprehensive ground transportation service.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) runs rail and bus services to the city, rail and bus stations. Shuttle buses, taxis and limousines are also available from baggage claim areas.

Lady Liberty Transportation Services provides transportation to and from Philadelphia International Airport at a charge of $8/person.  Transportation is provided at the baggage claim area of each terminal.  Individual reservations may be made by dialing 215-724-8888.
