Special notice: The Eccles Health Sciences Library is experiencing severe levels of noise 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, in this phase of its seismic refitting project.

If you choose to use the library spaces while noise levels are high, the use of ear protection is recommended. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) sets legal limits on noise exposure by stating, "With noise, OSHA's permissible exposure limit (PEL) is 90 dBA for all workers for an 8 hour day." 1

Quality Plugs ear plugs are available at the library front desk. When worn according to product instructions, Quality Plugs ear plugs provide Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 32 decibels. 2

Please note: Current health sciences students may have unlimited access. Students, please consult with your school, college or department for details.
