Slice of Life 2001 Student Software Award

Slice of Life Student Software Award

Each year a $1,000 prize is awarded to a student (usually a medical or graduate student) who has created an exceptional software application. The purpose of the Student Software Award is to recognize how much many of us are assisted and coached by students and their projects.  In the past, awards have been given to students who utilized the "Slice of Life" videodisc in their software. However, this is no longer a requirement.  Now, it has been expanded to include standalone, CD, Web, Handheld or DVD programs.

Submissions can be web based (but not password protected) or on CD-ROM or disk(s). The URL, CD, or disk(s) must be submitted together with the completed application form and a supporting letter from the faculty advisor involved with the project.

Students can be from any country and the program can be in any language. They will need you to encourage them to apply and write a letter. They do not have to attend the CHES/SOL meeting in August to participate. The program will be demonstrated at the meeting.

Please, encourage your students to submit their completed or almost completed projects. Remember, it is $1,000 for them and a good feeling for you. Please share this with students and other faculty you know.
