NOTE TO ATTENDEES AND PRESENTERS BRINGING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

The electrical current in Germany is 230 volts, 50 cycles alternating current(AC); wall outlets take Continental-type plugs, with two round prongs.

Three-pronged grounded USA power cables need either a US three-prong to Europe two round prong adapter (available in luggage stores, letting the grounded third prong on U.S. connectors "hang out"), OR a European three round prong connector.  The spacing of the 3 round prongs is wider than US 3 prong (which is 2 flat prongs and one round prong).

To use US-purchased dual-voltage appliances, you'll need only an adapter plug. Don't use 110-volt outlets, marked "For Shavers Only," for high-wattage appliances such as blow-dryers.

Most laptops operate equally well on 110 and 230 volts and so require only a plug adapter.
